South Bohemian Museum

Are you visiting South Bohemia? Don't forget to include the oldest regional museum on the list of tips.

The South Bohemian Museum is located in České Budějovice and manages the historical and cultural collections of the South Bohemian region. The permanent exhibition entitled The Story of the City introduces the history of České Budějovice from various points of view, either through preserved period artifacts or by bringing together key historical moments. At the same time, visitors can visit one of the thematic, temporary exhibitions representing the history or present of life in the South Bohemian Region.

In addition to exhibitions, conferences and lectures, visitors can visit the Museum Library, which has over 80,000 volumes of books and magazines. From April to November, an advisory center for mushroom pickers is open in the museum free of charge, where they can tell you whether your mushrooms are really edible.

A special program is prepared for disabled visitors.
