Ruins of Dívčí Kámen Castle

A magnificent romantic ruin on a high rock with breathtaking views of the Vltava River.

The ruins of Dívčí Kámen Castle are one of the largest and best preserved medieval monuments in the Czech Republic.

Thanks to the combination of rock formations, meandering watercourses and human intervention, there is a great variety of fauna and flora. There is not much to explore there in the winter months, however, it is a chance to see the place without visitors. The area of the castle was declared a nature reserve, which is also part of the PLA Blanský les.

There are many legends linked to the castle. One of them is a hidden treasure guarded by goblins.

What to do here:

  • Get lost in the tangle of medieval walls.
  • Climb the lookout and enjoy the view of the Vltava River.
  • Explore the nature reserve of which the castle is part of.
