Main Exposition

A total of 3 floors of exhibitions are dedicated to various topics.

  • On the ground floor, you will see the time of the founding and early development of the town of Rožmitál, including the family that stood at the foundation of the local moore castle. A member of the family Johanna of Rožmitál even became a Czech queen when she became the wife of the king Jiřík of Poděbrady.
  • The first floor introduces the history of the town connected with the surrounding beautiful and unspoilt Brdy nature. You will learn about the life of the locals as well as the traditional tradesmanship of crafts such as woodworking, ironmongery, hammers, and studmaking.
  • On the second floor, you will learn about the personality of Jakub Jan Ryba - an enlightened cantor, composer and writer who composed here. In Rožmitál in 1796, his famous Czech Christmas Mass "Hey Master", was heard for the first time. However, you will also discover his lesser known works. For larger, pre-announced groups, a tour of the church with a show of historical organ is available.

Do not miss the gallery on the ground floor, where a new exhibition is opened every month.

Do you like vintage cars? Browse through the collection of historic Aero cars placed in three halls. An exhibition of agricultural machinery and tools in the barn, where no entrance fee is paid, is also worth seeing.

There is also a children's playground.
