opening March 3rd at 5:00 PM
Chapter Hall of Strakonice Castle
An exhibition about the joy of awakening and the return of life.
The exhibition Sensual Spring focuses on spring as an intense sensory and emotional experience. It is not a description of nature, but a capture of the moment when joy, lightness and the desire to live reawaken after the winter depression.
An unconventionally conceived exhibition where spring is understood as an archetype - a time of new life, love and hope, deeply rooted in poetry, fine arts and old pagan traditions.
In the exhibition we work with the symbolism of flowers, light, birdsong, landscape and the garden as a space of transformation. Sensuality is not expressed ostentatiously, but in subtle sensations, color, rhythm, the touch of light and the quiet repose of nature.
Áda Novák's landscape paintings complement the exhibition with a visual layer that offers a glimpse into his atmospheric landscapes, enhanced by his characteristic painterly emphasis on the size and breadth of the sky.
The chapter house is transformed for a brief moment into a temple of senses and colors. A place to stop and experience the joy of the return of life after a long winter.
