We cordially invite you to a brand new event that will revitalize our city. It will take place on Saturday, October 18th at Náměstí Míru. You may be wondering what zemojablíčka are and why in Jindřichův Hradec? Come and see for yourself.
These are potatoes, without which few of us could imagine our diet, and each of us certainly knows an infinite number of ways to prepare them. And what do potatoes have in common with our city? You will find out at the Zemojablíček Festival , where we will celebrate potatoes in every way.
From 10:00 to 18:00, a varied program awaits you at Náměstí Míru for both young and old. The JH Swing Band, led by bandleader Karel Pixa, will play to keep you in a good mood, and entertainment will also be provided by theatrical skits from the Festivities of Zemojablíček – a celebration of potatoes in Jindřichův Hradec by Martin Musil with storyteller Věra Kubátová on the history of potatoes in Jindřichův Hradec. Various competitions are prepared – for example, in eating potato dumplings or in the fastest potato scratching – and there will also be a children's corner, where they will create not only from potatoes. All potatoes for the competition teams and competitions on the stage will be provided by the event partner ZD Rodvínov . A great attraction will be a cooking show with the popular South Bohemian chef Petr Šíma . Five competition teams will start cooking potato specialties. And it is the visitors who will decide who will be the winner .
The festivities will also include exhibition panels prepared in collaboration with Štěpánka Běhalová from the Jindřichův Hradec Museum . Two guided tours will be held in the monastery church of St. Catherine, led by parish vicar Miroslav Štrunec , at 10:30 and 11:30. The monastery church of St. Catherine will be open to the public from 10:00 to 13:00.
In addition, there are stalls with refreshments, handicrafts, a stylish photo corner and a children's zone waiting for you on the square. The moderator Jiří Hudec will guide you throughout the day. Come with us to see Vilém Slavata's feast table, taste potato delicacies, compete and have fun with music and theater.
Saturday, October 18th, will be the apple festival in Jindřichův Hradec - and you definitely shouldn't miss it.
