The exhibition at the International Museum of Ceramics in Bechyne, preceded by the publication of a comprehensive monograph in 2023, focuses on this influence and attempts to show that Rado's work not only partially reflects the morphology of puppets, but above all that his figurative sculpture was shaped by his own experience with the revival and activation of objects in the theater. From the perspective of the "revived object", he then reinterprets Rado's figurative sculpture and therefore approaches it through a different key than before - Rado's work and its interpretation have so far been bound by the division according to the technology used or the main motif. The author's creative processes also take on new contours in connection with the "revived object", in which he focused, for example, on the intertwining of the vessel and the figure or used prefabricated elements (blocks, bricks, tiles). From these, he easily created figurative sculptures, characterized by his perspective and humor.
The exhibition The Animated Object will present works from the collections of the Aleš South Bohemian Gallery, the Museum of Decorative Arts in Prague, and numerous works from private collections.
