Festival Hvězdy nad Vltavou - Programme summary

This year's edition is dedicated to two extraordinary personalities of music history - Johann Sebastian Bach, who was born 340 years ago, and Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy, who made a significant contribution to the rediscovery of Bach's works.

You can look forward to 16 exceptional concerts in beautiful South Bohemian locations such as České Budějovice, Hluboká nad Vltavou, Bechyně, Český Krumlov. This year the festival will welcome a record number of international guests, including members of the world-famous English Chamber Orchestra. In addition to classical music, it will also venture into the world of Broadway musicals, jazz, film melodies, world music and contemporary music - the festival will offer a wide variety of musical experiences across genres and generations.
