On Wednesday, May 14, the Run for the Memory of the Nation will premiere in Vimperk. It is organized by the Post Bellum organization in many Czech cities and aims to raise awareness of their activities and contribute to them. The Memory of the Nation project works with witnesses of the events of the 20th and already 21st centuries, records their memories and spreads awareness of what events shaped our country and society and how those who were there perceived them. Last year, even students from local schools got involved in processing the memories of local witnesses.
We start at 5:30 PM at Vodník (down by the pond), with registration starting at 5:00 PM. The entry fee will be paid directly on site via QR code and its recommended (but not binding) amount is 300 CZK. There will be two circuits to choose from – 1 km and almost 5 km.
We hope that as many of us as possible will come together and we will live up to the fact that Vimperk is a city of athletes. After the run, we can sit together in the Vodník Excursion Restaurant, because as already mentioned - Vimperk May is mainly about meeting and sharing.
